WHAT IS LA VOZ?
La Voz is a personal e-mail list that over the last 14 years has worked towards keeping the San Diego non-profit, Latino, and community at large connected . It consists of e-mail contacts that include students, educators, elected officials and their representatives, media, organizers and activist, clergy, non-profit executive directors, and business leaders. La Voz consists of three weekly e-mails consisting of community events, grant and funding opportunities, and job opportunities. Additionally La Voz reserves the right to send out occasional e-mails on behalf of its community partners and sponsors. The majority of the e-mails are San Diego based but are increasingly becoming more diverse in geographic origin and relevance.The e-mails sent out are done as a free service and are not connected to any particular organization. | |

TITLE: Pad Squad
DEPARTMENT: Entertainment & Production
REPORTS TO: Manager, In- Park Entertainment
STATUS: Part-time, Seasonal - Reapply Annually
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Represents the San Diego Padres in a pleasant, enthusiastic, and professional manner, acting as the front-line ambassador on the club's behalf · Helps club reach out to targeted marketing demographics (Military, College, Hispanic) · Supports the sales team to create leads through grassroots marketing opportunities · Attends numerous community events to gain positive exposure for the Padres, including but not limited to: fairs, festivals and non-profit functions. Works with the Padres Community Affairs staff to showcase Live, Learn, Play initiatives · Coordinates and execute in-game promotions as assigned, interacts with fans throughout the ballpark, on a personal basis or to a large crowd enhancing the atmosphere and energy at PETCO Park. Executes scheduled and spontaneous visits for fans (i.e. birthday, first game, VIP) · Assists with the production of the Padres in-ballpark pre-game show, including interaction with club executives, partners and VIPs · Drive the Padres brand, events and marketing concepts through the use of social media · Speak in front of large groups at community events or as a part of the Padres Speaker's Bureau to deliver the club's message · Serve as liaison to provide the Padres feedback from members of the community at Padres Games and public events · Conduct intercept surveys during Padres games · Keeps up with the team's performance on the field and current club news
JOB REQUIREMENTS
(Must meet the following minimum requirements)
· Must be 18 years of age · Availability to work during 60% of Padres home games and 50% of other community & special events as needed, including weekends, some midweek day games, and holidays · Individuals with outstanding communication skills and a positive, energetic personality. · Spanish bilingual preferred · Previous experience working in military or college or Hispanic communities · Previous experience in marketing, sales or customer service · Demonstrate ability to perform and speak on camera, and in front of large audiences · Performing arts, spokes-modeling, and public speaking experience · Dance, tumbling or other creative activity skills are a plus · Ability to stand and walk and/or run for extended periods of time · Consistent, punctual and regular attendance. · Professional image and demeanor. · Strong ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment.
