ABOUT THE GRAPE STOMP: As the name says, this is a competitive grape stomp! We will have two vats of freshly picked grapes, and teams of four will compete to produce the most juice with their bare feet. Like in the old days, each contestant (one at a time) will remove their shoes and socks and stomp the grapes to produce the juice. There will be a foot washing station to use at the completion.

HOW IT WORKS: Teams of four contestants will compete against other teams. Each team will have 15 minutes to stomp grapes to produce the most juice. Team contestants will climb into their vat and begin crushing, with only (1) contestant allowed in the vat at any given timed. The team will then alternate contestants during the allotted 15 minutes. The team contestants not in the vat will collect the juice for measurement. After all the teams have competed, the team that produces the most juice will be declared the winner. The overall winning team will be awarded a check for $300 to be distributed to the non-profit organization of their choice. Other teams will be eligible for prizes based on enthusiasm, crowd pleaser, etc. In addition, the team that has the most supporters in attendance (paid event ticket) will be eligible for an additional $150 prize to the non-profit of their choice.

WHERE & WHEN: The competition will take place from 1:00pm - 4:00 pm at the Marching facility located at 3030 Main Street in San Diego during the 1st Annual Grape Stomp on Saturday, November 14th.

MEET OUR TEAM: Our team in made up off members of the Cesar E. Chavez Committee & Our Friends From Danza Mexica'yotl. Combined our dancers have over 50 years of  Danza & Marching Experience. We will give new meaning to the term NO UVAS!
