Strategic Communications Coordinator 

The Equality Alliance of San Diego County is hiring a part-time Strategic Communications Coordinator that will be responsible for identifying and utilizing opportunities to promote the message and goals of the San Diego Immigrant Rights Consortium (SDIRC) of which we are a part. The Coordinator will work with new media, print, television and radio, as well as social networking tools and our list of supporters to increase SDIRC's media presence and to elevate our messages. SDIRC is a coalition of community, labor, faith, and legal organizations that seek to support comprehensive immigration reform, counter anti-immigrant activity, educate immigrants about their rights and educate the larger San Diego community about immigrants.
SDIRC organizations combine education, policy advocacy, community organizing and occasional litigation to build the voice and power of immigrant and border communities to shape local, state and national policies.

Salary range: $28,080-$31,200 ($18-$20 / hour). The position is 30 hours/week, part-time for one year.
Benefits: Health care provided. Generous vacation and holiday package.

Assistant Professor of Latino/a Literature & Culture

Tenure-track assistant professorship in contemporary Latina/o literature and culture, beginning Sept. 2010. Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in English or American Studies with a focus in contemporary Latina/o literature and culture, relevant teaching experience, and an active program of scholarly research. Preference will be given to applicants whose research interests include women's literature, feminist theory, critical race theory, border studies, hemispheric American Studies, and/or ecocriticism. The typical teaching load for productive faculty is 3/2, with frequent opportunities to teach upper-division and/or graduate courses, and for reduced teaching loads. Innercity Struggle Asscoaite Director

InnerCity Struggle (ICS) is a social justice, community-building, and membership led organization in the Eastside communities of Boyle Heights, unincorporated East Los Angeles, El Sereno and Lincoln Heights. ICS promotes safe, healthy and non-violent communities by organizing youth and families in the Eastside to work toward social and educational justice. ICS was founded in 1994 as
an independent center to build community leadership to improve the quality of life in the Eastside. Through organizing and community building, ICS has celebrated various victories like winning new schools and more counselors, and increasing college access and voter participation in the Eastside.

InnerCity Struggle is seeking an Associate Director. The AD will devote 70% of his or her time to overseeing and monitoring internal organizational operations, including but not limited to the supervision of lead staff; support program planning and coordination; and will support campaign
strategy development, coordination, and implementation. The AD will also spend 30% of his/her time on external affairs, including fundraising, foundation development, major donor cultivation, and coalition building. The Associate Director reports directly to the Executive Director.

Project Manager, CTSA Community Engagement Research 

Responsible for the implementation and program management of a 2-year research project.  Contributes to the design and execution of all phases of the program.  Creates program timelines and facilitates implementation.  Develops IRB protocols.  Prepares and submits all grant reporting.  Oversees translation and pilot-testing of survey battery and other materials.  Recruits and oversees project staff, coordinates SDSU collaborators and staff involvement.  Oversees participant recruitment and data collection efforts.  Maintains communication and relationships with the target community.  Responsible for oversight of grant budget and fund usage.  Contributes to the dissemination of research findings through publications and presentations.  Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience:  Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in government related grant program management.  Demonstrated experience in community based research grants and programs.  Experience conducting or leading health or social science research, preferably in the San Diego area Latino community. Minimum of one year supervisory experience required, preferably in a research setting. Experience with administration and reporting of major grants.

Qualifications:  Masters degree required; bilingual English/Spanish.

San Diego County. The incumbent will be the project manager for the Community Action Partnership and
the Office of Violence Prevention.
