Arts & Accessibility Technical Assitance Program
 
The purpose of this program is to increase the opportunities of individuals with disabilities to participate in art programs. Funding will be available to individuals, in the form of professional development of artists with disabilities grants, and art organizations, in the form of arts organizations to engage artists or audiences with disabilities grants.

Akonadi Foundation
Strategic Opportunity Support Fund

The mission of the Akonadi Foundation is to support the development of a powerful social change movement to eliminate structural racism and create a racially just society. The goal of the Foundation's Strategic Opportunity Support Fund is to encourage innovation in racial justice movement building through cross learning, alliance building, and strategic initiatives. The Fund will provide small one-time grants to timely efforts as they emerge on a local, regional, and national level. In 2009 the Fund is particularly interested in two key areas: Making Racial Equity an Economic Priority and Building Communities Free of State Violence. Approximately $300,000 will be awarded, with grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000. The remaining application deadlines for 2009 are June 5, August 28, and December 4. Street Outreach Program
 
The purpose of this program is to provide education and prevention services to runaway and homeless youth in order to help them make it off the streets and into a safe environment. Funded projects will conduct outreach efforts aimed at building relationships between street-outreach staff and street youth. Projects should also seek to help youth transition into safe and appropriate alternative living arrangements.
