Dear Friend,
 
NOMAR, North Island Hispanic Association (NIHA) and friends will be hosting its 15th Annual Christmas Toy Drive on Friday, November 21, 2008. Doors open at approxatemately 4:00 PM, at the Barrio Station, located at 2175 Newton Avenue, San Diego, 92113.

This annual event benefits the children of the Barrio. The Barrio Station identifies 600 youths from families that are either experiencing financial difficulty, low income, or are just going through an unfortunate year. Additional toys are purchased with cash donations. The Barrio Station provides the administration of the distribution and the eligibility requirements.  Toys are sorted by age group and gender, gift-wrapped and organized for distribution
 
Your part is just to participate. Please do not bring toys associated with weaponry or violence. Please bring new, unwrapped toys for children between the ages of 6 and 12 years of age, encouraging education, sports and family entertainment. Tax-deductible monetary contributions are also welcome in the form of cash, check or money order. Checks payable to: NOMAR-Toys. Send checks to:

The toy drive is free, no admission charge. Entertainment will be provided by  DJ "Malo Sounds" (starting at 4pm till?). Bring your dancing shoes and enjoy an evening with "special taco dinners by friends" (4:30pm till sold out). All guests should be at least 21 years of age. Secured parking is available.

The Barrio Station is annually listed in the United Way/CFC distribution guide, agency number #6105. Established in 1970, providing support services which include; prevention, early intervention, juvenile diversion, crises intervention, scholarships, youth counseling, recreational and educational activities and client assistance.
 
We need your help and support. So please spread the word. One gift or monetary contribution can make a difference to a child in need. Mark your calendars for this special event and bring a friend!
