Job Title: Information Technology Specialist
Reports To:  Chief Financial Officer
FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt
 

Our mission is to help bring schools and parents together as partners in the education of their children. This is accomplished by providing a Nine Week Parent Training Program at elementary, middle, and high school sites that promotes strong parental involvement in a child's education process at home and a working partnership between parents and schools. www.piqe.org
 
Summary:
  Acts as the Information Technology Specialist by performing the following duties.
 
Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.  
  1. Installs and maintains personal computers, laptops, software and peripheral equipment.*  
  2. Installs and maintains networking gear such as routers, switches, hub transceivers, modems, cabling and internet service providers.*  
  3. Design, development and implement a 3-5 year Technology Plan as part of a PIQE's Strategic Plan  
  4. Installs, administers and maintains Windows Domain Servers and Windows Exchange Servers.*  
  5. Maintains help desk trouble calls.*  
  6. Applies troubleshooting skills to identify issues and their source from multiple vendor and domain environments.*  
  7. Understands, installs, upgrades and maintains various vendor software.*  
  8. Performs system back-ups.*  
  9. Installs and uses VPN access to troubleshoot issues remotely.*  
  10. Works with telephone vendors to maintains DSL modem connectivity.*  
  11. Assists with some user training.*  
  12. Manages deployment and day-to-day operations of a multi-server Windows 2000/XP and Server 2003 environment, MS SQL server and web server.*  
  13. Sets up, configures and supports internal and external networks.*  
  14. Establishes and maintains network users, user environments, directories and security.*  
  15. Installs and tests software upgrades and patches.*  
  16. Researches and evaluates new technologies.*  
  17. Maintains and develops the corporate internet and intranet sites.*  
  18. Configures network printers and print servers.*  
  19. Creates and maintains user accounts for network access as well as provides users
  20. security access and permissions to workgroups or domains.*  
  21. Troubleshoots and repairs server hardware.*  
  22. Configures and troubleshoots IIS, FTP and SMTP.*  
  23. Builds website pages using a variety of languages and tools including HTML, PHP,
  24. Flash and other current programming languages.*  
  25. Prepares the site by installing and configuring server software, installing programming language and using authoring and formatting tools as well as ensures cross-platform compatibility and establishes links.*  
  26. Upgrades sites by updating content and graphics, monitors performance and results, identifies and evaluates improvement options, introduces new technology and maintains links.*  
  27. Performs HTML programming and supports updates to site content.*

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Language Ability:
Bilingual preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
 
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
 
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
 
Special skills:
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
 
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows 2000/XP, SQL, networks, web design, HTML, PHP and Flash.
