USD Student Looking for Latino Research Participants

I would like to know if you might be able to help me find some research participants. The following explains who I am, the study I am conducting, and the criteria for my study.

Claudia Chavez, a doctoral student at the University of San Diego, is conducting a study on Latino immigrants who have received a university degree. Information from this study will contribute to the knowledge in the field of higher education, immigrant students, and policy. In order to be selected for this study participants will need to satisfy the following four criteria, which includes he or she will need to be a person who:

(a) lives in the U.S. but who was born outside of the U.S. and brought to this country as a child between the ages of zero to sixteen years old,

(b) attended U.S. secondary schools,

(c) is a Latina or Latino (preferably from Mexico or Central America) who has graduated from a public university in California, and

(d) is a child of undocumented immigrants and has been undocumented during, at least part, his/her college experience but has obtained some type of legal authorization to be in the U.S..

The latter criterion was included so that participation in this study in no way put the student in legal jeopardy of being deported.  Please e-mail or call me if you meet the criteria or know anyone else that might be interested in this study. Claudia-06@sandiego.edu or (858)349-1676.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Claudia Chavez

CD Fundraiser to Help Homeless

I hope that this message finds you and your loved ones in good health and spirits.  Over the last year I've been working on a CD of music on which I play guitar and panpipes.  It features 18 pieces including numerous Christmas songs as well as Andean, classical and traditional music.  My son Alejandro plays guitar on three pieces which comprise a special tribute to my father, Pedro Agular Nieto, with whom I used to play those three pieces (songs 8,9,10).  A list of the songs is attached for your convenience.

This CD is titled "A Christmas Flavour" and all proceeds will go to T.A.C.O. (Third Avenue Charitable Organization), which is based in the First Lutheran Church downtown.  T.A.C.O. provides medical care, dental care, meals and more to our homeless sisters and brothers downtown.  Here's a link to their website:
http://www.tacosd.org/

The CD cost $2 to produce and we are selling them for $10, such that each CD purchase contributes $8 to T.A.C.O. and helps it provide services which are literally life-saving.  Folks who have heard the CD have given very positive feedback in terms of the music.

Please let me know if you'd like to get a CD or help us sell them.  Many thanks. Much respect, Jesus
