Latino Health Leadership Summit
San Ysidro Health Center will be holding its first Latino Health Leadership Summit on Friday and Saturday, October 12-13, 2007, in San Ysidro, California. The primary goals of this Leadership Summit are twofold: the first is to increase the public's general understanding of the key issues influencing the health and well-being of Latinos; the second goal is to provide a community-based forum to explore 'best practices' for delivering quality health services in a respectful, culturally proficient manner. We invite you to participate in this workshop to identify opportunities for participatory action research in San Diego County. Your contribution will help us create a research agenda that reflects the current needs and priorities of our local community.
Whether you are scholar or a community organization, this workshop is intended to help you think through the basic issues involved in collaborative research and evaluation projects. Our primary goal is to bring together college/university faculty and community partners to discuss opportunities for collaborative research to:
1. Emphasize the effectiveness of participatory action research for social change;
2. Develop partnerships to support research and community projects;
3. Delineate strategies for conducting collaborative research and evaluation;
4. Use findings to achieve positive social change.

20th Annual All People's Breakfast The Center for Social Advocacy is sponsor of the 20th Annual All People's Breakfast as we celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the many liberation movements that accompanied the Black Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.
