LETTER FROM ANI TSERING WANGMO:
Dear Sangha and Friends of Ewam,
My name is Tsering Wangmo. Most of you know me but for those who don't I am Tulku Sang-ngag's attendant. I have lived at Ewam in Arlee, Montana for over 8 years working on Tulku Sang-ngag's worldwide projects such as the pecha project and the Garden of 1,000 Buddhas in Arlee, Montana. I am currently fundraising for the Garden of One Thousand Buddha's also located at Ewam in Arlee, Montana. We broke ground for the Garden about 7 years ago and have worked on it in phases as donations and volunteers manifest. We are excited to start the next stage of development - a canopy over Yum Chenmo, (Prajnaparamita), the 25 foot central figure of the Garden. Rinpoche was hoping the Garden would be completed by 2012 with plans to invite H.H. the Dalai Lama to consecrate it. Unfortunately, the finish date may need to be pushed back a few years depending on donations and volunteers. Please click here to see renderings of what the finished Garden of 1,000 Buddhas will look like and for more information about the Garden. In early spring, with the help of many volunteers and a wonderful Bhutanese guitarist, Tshering Goen, I put on concerts to benefit the canopy project. I visited Bozeman and Whitefish, Montana, Salt Lake City, Utah and I will have one final concert in Hamilton, Montana on June 28th which will also include a silent auction. All the proceeds from these events go directly to the canopy project. The canopy has been estimated to cost $74,700.50, click here for the estimate. I have raised approximately $60,000 of the costs thus far which includes a donation from Rinpoche of $5,000 as well as the sertog that will go on top of the canopy. We still need about $15,000 to complete the project in order for the contractors to begin their work. We are hoping to begin construction in July and have the project completed for Rinpoche's arrival in August. Thank you for any amount you are able to contribute. Yours in the Dharma, Ani Tsering Wangmo

Drawing by Lama Sonam Tsering
This is a rendering of what the canopy will look like when completed, for more information on the canopy please click here. Lama Sonam Tsering, Master Sculptor and Painter in Tibetan Traditional Art, designed the canopy for us and arrives in Montana June 26th to work on the decorative facade of the canopy and other detail work on Yum Chenmo. |
THE ARRIVAL OF THE BUDDHA STATUES
Shakyamuni Buddha to the South; Marmay Dze to the West; Maitreya in the East and Mopa Thaye to the North, the last buddha foretold to be born in this aeon.
In addition to the canopy this year, we are also very excited to announce the arrival of the Buddhas of the four directions. They are arriving here from Indonesia next month. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible - John Schumpert, Lama Tsomo, Trish Morris, Toni McOmber and Chris Riebe. And a special thanks to John Cashman who sponsored the statues.

Serving to Inspire Others Message from Rinpoche
In general, we aspire to
engage in virtuous activity. With this, we invite others to avail
themselves of this great and unusual opportunity to accumulate merit,
which will have the general result of benefiting oneself as well as
others. In particular, such merit one accumulates can be dedicated for
the benefit of one's deceased relatives or friends, those who have died
while giving birth, and the like. Engaging in such activities is an
effective means whereby one can purify one's own karma as well as that
of others.
To any of you who may wish to
contribute financially or to volunteer to work to build this One
Thousand Buddha Garden, no matter how large or small a contribution you
are able to make, to you who are well-motivated, I offer my welcome and
my heartfelt gratitude. [Click here for complete article]
May all be auspicious!
Gochen Tulku Sang-ngag
