This is not to say that the month has been all about endings; there have been some significant beginnings as well. For one of these, three of us journeyed to Tianjin, China, to initiate a demonstration project for composting organics in rural communities. Seed funding for this project is being provided by the China Institute at the University of Alberta and should lead to ongoing collaboration and larger projects in the future. The key thing here is the establishment of good productive relationships and, in fact, this is really at the heart of all our work. Successful completions require good foundations and, in our extensive network of partners, clients, sponsors and supporters, we are very fortunate to have the relationships that provide such foundations. We look forward to developing these relationships and to lots more successful projects.
