Professional Photographers of California Announces a new benefit
When you travel do you use the internet to make reservations?
Do you use Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, Hotels.com, etc?
Now you can go to one place and get the same deals, or even better deals for your travel!
PPC has partnered with one of the world's largest travel agencies, YTB Travel, to assist you with your travel reservations. This is a win-win partnership with you and PPC. Everytime you book your travel through TravelPPC, PPC will be allocated 60% of the commission generated through the reservations engine.
There is NO additional cost to you! It will be the same as if you booked with any of the other agencies. Somone gets commission wherever you book, so why not PPC!
Making online reservations through www.travelppc.com is as easy as any other online travel agency.
We help you with great deals and at the same time you help PPC.
In the future we will be able to make block bookings for PPC members at hotels to get the best rate, group rates for cruises (maybe a week long cruise to Alaska), group rates for international travel for our members. We can now offer great rates for all of these.
So. when you next need to make resaervations help yourself and PPC at the same time and use www.travelppc.com . Tell your friends, family and clients, they can all use our site.

Another Benefit for PPC members and their spouses!
A Retreat in Yosemite National Park
October 23-27, 2008
What's the cost for this? Just $89.00 per person per night, and it includes every meal and all applicable taxes.
What a great way to have a mini vacation and use it as a business expense! This will also be the PPC quarterly board meeting weekend.
Carlos Lozano will be our chef for the weekend, Thurs 23 through Monday lunchtime 27 October. For you who have been before you know what Carlos can do!
But wait, there's more! Tim Mathiesen, F-ASP, one of the country's great Panorama Landscape photographers, will be on hand for Friday and Saturday to assist with your Landscape photography. If you've ever photographed the landscape in Yosemite you know it's not as easy as it looks to get those perfect exposures!
This retreat is limited to the first 58 persons registering, that's the amount of accomodation we have. Persons registering for the full four nights will have preference for rooms. (PPC members and spouses only)
These cabins/houses have great decks, fireplaces, and ambience. Bring you own libations and enjoy the perfect location. October is the time when the fall colors start and, who knows, we might even see some snow!
Great photography, great instruction, great food, and great friends.

A GREAT year for PPC
PPC had a great year 2007-2008, thanks to all it's members and the hard work of the board and committees. For those of you who were members in 2005 and experienced what PPC was going through and believed in PPC,
WE THANK YOU EVEN MORE!
At the quarterly board meeting and installation of the new board of officers in Santa Barbara last month, the board gave the following report:
PPC has no debts!
Year end profit - $96,945.10.
Membership is hovering around the 500 mark and we now have over 100 members taking advantage of the monthly payment plan.
Pro Photo Expo delivered a profit of $53,683.92
West Coast School delivered a profit of $53,495.64
California Sunday (2007) delivered a profit of $8,405.64
Pro Photo West Magazine delivered a profit of $4,7508.01 (The first time the mag has ever made a profit!)
All in all a great year. We are now looking at ways to give members even more benefits.
Two of those have already been established. Pro Photo Expo 2009 registration in Pasadena will be included in your dues. (March 19-23, 2009, mark your calenders NOW)
Pro Photo Expo 2009 San Francisco registration will be included in your dues. Yes, you read correctly! PPC is putting on a Pro Photo Expo in the north at the S. San Francisco Convention Center, Aug 21-24, 2009. Mark your calenders NOW
PPC is researching webinars, merchant credit card and health insurance and more for future benefits for members.
STAY TUNED!
and don't forget to register for Yosemite, California Sunday and both Pro Photo Expo's
