Children from Yemin Orde Youth Village celebrated the Jewish holiday of Shavuot with a traditional evening of study and self-reflection. Shavuot commemorates the day that God delivered the Ten Commandments to the ancient Israelites in the Sinai. It also marks a time period when special ceremonies are performed at Yemin Orde.
Ilan Maisenstein and his family moved to Israel from France in 1996 to pursue their dream of living in a supportive Jewish community. At Yemin Orde, Ilan felt safe. It provided him with a "soft landing" in his new country and helped shape his entire outlook on life.

Providing a comprehensive support system to graduates is a very special element of Yemin Orde that makes a positive difference in the lives of its children. With the help of the Annabelle Lindy Yemin Orde Collaborative Project, young graduates are paired with "big brothers" and "big sisters" who care about them and offer guidance as they plan for the future.
Sharon and Bob Efron of West Hartford, Conn., first discovered Yemin Orde Youth Village on a visit to Israel in 2009. The dedication of the staff and the passion of the children they met inspired them to support Friends of Yemin Orde through its monthly giving plan.
U.S. Cadets and Midshipman take a tour of the Village.
U.S. military cadets and midshipmen visited Yemin Orde to learn about the Village and the Village Way methodology. The group spent three weeks in Israel as part of the 2012 JINSA (Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs) U.S. Military Academies program. Many of the academy participants noted that their visit to Yemin Orde was one of the highlights of their trip to Israel.
