Merging Our Vision
With Mother Nature
Dr. Benny Fisher, Director Yemin Orde Youth Village
At Yemin Orde, we are constantly merging our vision and plans with the tumultuous lives of the children, the personal lives of the staff and, as we saw one year ago, the force and fury of Mother Nature. In the days following the fire, our efforts focused on maintaining normalcy for the children. Today, I am proud to report, our children are thriving and a great sense of energy and excitement flourishes throughout the Village.

On the first day of the Hebrew month of Shevat, we will mark the one year anniversary of the fire at Yemin Orde. At first glance, this date appears to be an error, simply irrational, as the fire actually overtook the Village on the second night of Hannukah, December 6, 2010. So why did we choose to remember the fire on a different date? This was not a random choice.

Ready, Set, Build!
Today, the Village is preparing for the next phase of its rebuilding process. A new master plan is on the verge of completion. But the costs are staggering and we still have a $1.6 million funding gap to fill in order to meet our planned 2013 completion date.
