Congratulations to Our Yemin Orde Graduates!
 | | Yemin Orde Graduation Song |
Brimming with pride and confidence, the children of the 2011 graduating class of Yemin Orde Youth Village recently accepted their high school diplomas with the promise of bright futures ahead. On June 14, Dr. Benny Fisher, Director, Yemin Orde, addressed the crowd of some 750 family members, friends and staff at the special ceremony. "What makes a successful graduate? Success isn't only excellent grades and full matriculation. Success is the desire to succeed in your lives, to strive to do well in whatever you chose to do," he said. Village Spotlight: Eviatar, An Informal Educator With A Gentle Nature & Strong Spirit
During Eviatar's experience as an Informal Educator at Yemin Orde, he has witnessed the challenges faced by the children and has guided them with his gentle leadership and easy manner. Now , Eviatar faces challenges of his own as his family's home was destroyed in the wildfire that tore through the Village and Israel's Carmel Forest in December, 2010. "Once the decision was made to evacuate the Village, we all needed to do it as quickly as possible," Eviatar said. Read more about Eviatar.

Yemin Orde Educational Initiatives: Educating the Educators
One of the first villages to integrate "the village way" is TOM, located just outside Hadera. TOM is populated by 290 boys, mostly new immigrants from Ethiopia. Over the years TOM has had a high rate of success on matriculation exams, but their graduates have not succeeded as they would have hoped. By introducing "the village way", they transformed the educational focus to include extensive informal education programs aimed at tikkun halev - healing the boys' hearts, enabling them to succeed. Gordy Zacks is a noted businessman, philanthropist, and presidential advisor, as well as expert on Middle East affairs. Russell Robinson is Chief Executive Officer of the Jewish National Fund, a global nonprofit organization that works to develop the land in Israel through environmental efforts. Summer Programs at Yemin Orde
This summer, it's "business as usual" at Yemin Orde as the Village is hub of activity. New graduates are moving into our Graduate Home, as Yemin Orde is their only home in Israel. Our younger children are also staying at the Village throughout the summer months. All of these children need supervision and daily activities and our staff is with them day and night to respond to their needs. Read more. |
