Graduate Spotlight: Molla Begashaw
| |
Molla, Bill and Dale Nissenson,
Susan Weijel |
Yemin Orde graduate, Molla Begashaw, remembers the seeming endless challenges he faced after his family arrived in Israel from Ethiopia in 1997. Among them: a new language, new friends, new customs, and a new place to live. As a teenager, he was overwhelmed. But shortly after he arrived at Yemin Orde, Molla's outlook on life and its possibilities brightened. "At Yemin Orde, I learned to believe in myself," Molla said. "Everyone encouraged me to dream." Molla dreamed big and served for five years as the second Ethiopian-Israeli in Israel's elite Navy Seal unit. Today, his future is bright as he pursues a college degree and is active in community service. Read more about Molla and his recent trip to the U.S. |

In the San Francisco area, Yemin Orde was awarded a generous $10,000 grant from the Jewish Teen Foundation Youth Philanthropy. Congratulations to our kids!
