Tampa-area women have the unique opportunity to learn how to better manange their finances at Money Smart: Financial Fitness Now and in Retirement, a FREE seminar presented by the Florida Commission on the Status of Women and Financial Expert Dr. Elizabeth Goldsmith.
 
Dr. Elizabeth GoldsmithDr. Goldsmith is a Professor and Fulbright Scholar at the Florida State University in the College of Human Sciences. Her research interests include consumer behavior and personal finance specifically investing behavior and women and money. For several years she was the featured speaker at workshops on "Women and Money" sponsored by the Florida Commission on the Status of Women in the Office of the Attorney General. Currently, she has a $345,511 2-year foundation grant with two Co-Pi's to study why some households are better at wealth accumulation than others even given the similar incomes and life circumstances. Dr. Goldsmith has published over 10 books including Consumer Economics: Issues and Behavior with Prentice Hall, 2nd edition in press and Personal Finance, 2nd edition and Resource Management for Individuals and Families, 3rd edition with Wadsworth/Thomson and 45 referred journal articles. She was a policy advisor to the White House on women's and girl's economic education. She has won three university teaching awards. She has been awarded research grants from the Smithsonian and Duke University. Her Fulbright in 2006 was in Trinidad and Tobago.

FCSW Achievement Awards and Special Keynote Address
 
This FREE seminar will allow participants to gain insights into the kinds of activities that most Financially Fit households undertake in their financial lives. You will learn about credit and debt, retirement and emergency savings, and financial communication with your family.  
 
The event will begin with a special presentation of the FCSW Florida Achievement Awards, followed by a moving keynote speech given by Susan B. Anthony,  women's rights campaigner and activist, as portrayed by Ms. Barbara Rowe.
