Dear Friends of Green Mountain Children's Museum,
 
As ongoing supporters of Green Mountain Children's Museum (GMCM), we wanted you to be the first to know that the GMCM Board of Directors has decided that our involvement in the redevelopment of the Moran Plant is no longer in the best interest of our organization, our donors and our supporters. 
 
This was a difficult decision to make and one we realize may generate some concern. The Moran Redevelopment Project has tremendous potential and if seen to fruition, will become a major asset to our region. We've invested significant time and effort in this project over the last two years and are grateful to the City of Burlington for including us in this exciting endeavor. They have assured us that while they would prefer GMCM to remain at the Moran, they are confident that the project will proceed and will request proposals for a new tenant.
 
Many factors were considered in coming to this decision. Ultimately, it boiled down to the numbers. It was the right choice for GMCM and we are eager to apply the progress we've made with exhibit development and fundraising at a new location. We applaud the City's efforts at the Moran and its continued partnership with the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center and Ice Factor.  We part ways amicably and look forward to when we can come together again to celebrate the opening of the Moran in 2011.
