Welcome - a new look!
As you can see, Living a Purposeful Life Newsletterhas undergone a transformation! The presentation of ideas and focus looks different, but the message is still the same: When the life you're living reflects  your inner vision, values and strengths, then you are living an authentic and balanced life.  And my commitment remains the same: inspiring and supporting you to show up authentically in your life.  You can read about the hows and the whys of this transition in the article below.

Over at the new website,
The Celtic Muse, you'll find a couple of freebies, an inspiring resource page and all the information you need about current retreats and workshops, including a special guest and workshop here in Dublin next month.

On the 28th of March, Beverly Down, President & CEO of the Creativity Coaching Association will be co-presenting a workshop with me entitled, Inspiring Creativity: Ten Keys to Unlock & Unleash Your Creative Potential.  This workshop is the launch of outreach program and initiative by the CCA to provide support and visibility to creativity coaches world-wide, and the CCA itself.

Inspiration for bringing creativity to life

musearrival How the Muse Arrived (and some really good coaching questions, too!)
Aware of an inner restlessness over the last couple of  years, I started asking myself the same straight, tough coaching questions I've asked so many of you:
  • So, what is it that you really want?
  • What is it that, when you're engaged with it, you lose all sense of time?  How do you experience "flow"?
  • How do you want to show up in your life? In this world? What gives you a wonderful and guiding  sense of purpose?
  • How can you use your gifts and abilities, building on your strengths, to help others create fulfilling & meaningful lives?
  • What do you want to say "Yes" to?
  • Who's on your "team"?  Who will support and encourage you through this transition?
The Celtic Muse Creative Writing Retreats & Workshops for Women is the fruit of a powerful personal and professional journey of deeper self-discovery.  Some parts were scary, others offered wonderful "Ahhh...yes" experiences, when I knew beyond any doubt I was on the right track.

For as long as I can remember, writing has been a constant companion - a source of comfort, surprise, challenge, insight, personal development and a deeply gratifying creative expression.  This, coupled with the fact that I thoroughly enjoy and am inspired by leading retreats and workshops (that have always included some form of creative wrting) made this narrowing of focus to creativity the natural, next right step for me.

For now, I'll leave you with one of my favourite affirming and inspiring quotes:

"There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time. This expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open."

Til next month then,

Recognizing Creative Energy

Have you ever felt the urge to "do" something, or felt a desire to manifest something and you didn't know what?  Have you experienced an inner restlessness that isn't satisfied by the things you usually do?  Consider this: those feelings may very well be your creativity aroused.
Or, maybe you've already come to recognize what your creative energy feels like - you take the time to dance with it and follow your Muse.  Ah...what bliss!

Either way, the question is:
how does that energy want to be expressed?

So what does it for you? What do you do that makes you lose all track of time?  What is it that draws you in so fully that you become one with it, stepping outside of time and space, feeling an enormous sense of well-being when you're done?

Whatever it is that draws you (hmm...did a pun just slip in?), whatever invites you, the important thing is to give it your time.  Do something creative...open yourself up to seeing creativity beyond the narrow realm of the "arts". Get creative with the concept of "creativity"!

It may very well be writing.  Or painting.  Or it could also be gardening or photography, arranging flowers or decoupage,  choosing colours for your home, or your wardrobe; throwing a pot or planning a workshop. It could be knitting or quilting, designing a room or a house; cooking or sculpture or seeing a solution to a problem or dilemma that seemed to come from
thin air (when you weren't even trying!).

It could be choosing the next right step for the life you're creating.

Creative energy is opportunity knocking at your door...can you imagine what's on the other side?
