Greetings!

Modern media is a strange beast.

For the last few days we have been bombarded with footage of snow throughout the country on TV, websites and social media.

It really makes me wonder how editors choose their lead stories. The tragic event in Norway gets sidestepped for the weather!

It's winter, it snows! Albeit a bit more than usual.

A friend in Christchurch tweeted that the snow was the "icing on the quake", which made me spare a thought for the hundreds of people displaced and having to use their backyards as a loo... or worse. Far out! What a time for Cantabrians.

And then there's the 'News of the World' tapping phones to get their next scoop. I can categorically say that we don't phone tap anyone for our blog posts and stories here at landscapedesign.co.nz  no matter how tempting it is!

There is a very clever YouTube video this month which shows another use for PVC pipes.  It's well worth a look if you have a few minutes to spare.
