"Here at Plantation, we believe in simplicity of design leading to strong forms and aesthetic value, being beautiful without compromising functionality. We believe in listening to the clients' needs and dreams, perhaps the most important part of the design process. We believe in new technologies, classic style, and experience to solve design problems. We believe in creating gardens that convey a sense of place, provide tranquility and escape. We believe in gardens that feel like they have always been there and always will."

Natural Plant Activator
switches on plants.
"I
can't believe the results for such little effort. Wow is all I can say, this is
the product all gardeners have been waiting for" Mary Robertson, Gardening
Expert.
Nature's Curator is the world's
first natural plant activator. There is nothing in it that feeds the plant so
it's a totally new approach to gardening. It triggers the plant's immune system
to activate the production of essential oils. These oils produce brighter, more
fragrant and colourful flowers and grow tastier, crunchier and healthier fruit
and vegetables. They also increase stressed plants capacity for healing and
prepare plants for attack from disease or pests. Plants are able to better
withstand environmental stress such as drought, wind, frost, salt spray or
transplant shock.
Nature's Curator is the perfect Christmas gift for a gardening friend or family
member - it's great for older gardeners as it works on all plants and is
totally safe to use. There is no withholding period, mixed spray retains
potency and it's safe to spray around children or pets.

December and January All covered in one post this month.
Climbing Beans 'n' PeasThese both look great running up tepees, A frames, obelisks and fencing. Don't crowd plants too close together, especially the peas as it'll be more likely they fall victim to powdery mildew. Tui products have a new eco range, one of which is specifically for powdery mildew and has a base of baking soda. Alternatively you could make up your own by making up a spray - scroll down for details. With both beans and peas the more you pick the more they will produce. If you missed planting peas in early spring, wait until nearer the end of summer as they are a cool weather crop and a great filler when other summer veges are finishing up. What to plant in December Beetroot, Broccoli, Carrot, Capsicum , Celery, Climbing beans, Cucumber Dwarf beans, Eggplant, Globe artichoke, Lettuce, Leeks , Kumara, Parsnip, Pepper, Potato, Pumpkin, Radish, Rhubarb, Rockmelon , Silverbeet, Spinach, Spring onion, Squash, Swede, Sweetcorn, Tomato, Turnip, Watermelon, Yams Zucchini, Much more...

Featured Designer: Bill Holden
Bill Holden recently established his company after trading for most of the last twenty years as Holden Landscapes. This was initially a design and build contracting business, but with successes in both the Ellerslie Flower Show and the Landscape Industries Association of New Zealand Awards, Bill now focuses on residential design, contract arrangement and installation supervision. He has also designed and developed several small residential subdivisions where he demonstrates his 'sense of place' philosophy and his passion for the landscape.
Bill has been in the landscape business since 1987. With twelve years in the Auckland region and the last ten based in the Rotorua under his belt, Bill has acquired considerable skill at making the very best of any given site. His long list of satisfied clients now enjoy much improved spaces in and around their homes.

Bill is a fully accredited member of the Landscape Industries Association of NZ (LIANZ). He is also currently president. |

Featured Company: Automatic Pool Covers Keeping your swimming pool in tip-top condition year-round can be hard work. Left exposed, a pool can be a trap for leaves, dirt and other debris. It can also mean a loss in heat and water.
"An automatic pool cover from GB Pool Supplies can reduce the constant maintenance often needed to keep your swimming pool looking good", says Geoff Bonham of GB Pool Supplies. In recognition that no two pools are the same, there are a number of optional features. These are designed to ensure your cover complements the aesthetic look of your pool, whether it's curved or rectangular.
