Graduation Update
LMC's 36th Annual Commencement Ceremony will be held on May 28, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Football Stadium. Graduating students may invite as many guests as they wish. Graduates should plan to arrive at the P.E. Annex area by the men's locker room no later than 6:00 p.m.

If you applied for graduation, you should have received a notice of your status. If you are graduating, you may now pick up your commencement regalia at the bookstore. Transfer Center News
Spring 2011 Admissions
UC Merced will be accepting applications for spring 2011. In addition, Transfer Admission Agreements with UC Merced can be signed with an LMC counselor until June 1st. Contact the Transfer Center at (925) 439-2181, ext. 3124 for more information.

Financial Aid News

Summer Pell Grant Information
If you are planning to enroll in summer classes be sure to file a 2009-2010 FAFSA application. The required number of units for summer will be the same as for fall or spring semester. For more information about how awards are disbursed, see Financial Aid.

Transition from FFELP to Direct Loan Program
On March 30, 2010, President Obama signed the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (HCERA) which makes significant changes to the Federal Student Loan programs. One of the provisions of the HCERA is the elimination of the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) and implementation of the Federal Direct Loan Program. Therefore, effective July 1, 2010 all new Stafford, PLUS, and consolidation loans will be funded and disbursed under the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program. The transition will be, for the most part, seamless; students and parents will obtain a direct loan in essentially the same manner as they would have under the FFELP loan program. Spring Practice and Game
The Mustang Football Program has begun Spring Practice. We will be practicing at Mustang Stadium on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:30 to 6:30. All practices are open to LMC students and faculty, and attendance is encouraged and welcome.

The annual Mustang Football Program Spring Game will take place on Friday May 22nd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission is free and will include a program so you can watch and root for our student athletes.

Car Wash Fundraiser
On Saturday May 23rd, Mustang Football will hold a car wash fundraising event from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tickets will be on sale for $10. To purchase tickets, ask the football players you know or contact Head Coach Van Boschetti at [email protected] or Spencer Gilford at [email protected]. All proceeds will benefit the LMC Mustang Football Program.
