• April 11 - 17, Spring Break NO CLASSES; however offices will be open in Pittsburg Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Brentwood Center offices will also be open but will close at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Attention Transferring Students!

Performing Arts Scholarship 2009

This $500 scholarship is for new or continuing LMC students with a love of performing arts.

Guidelines: Write a 250-word essay that best captures your favorite performing art (i.e. music, dance, drama, writing), and why and how it impacts your life. Essays must be typed in 12 pt Times New Roman font and double-spaced. Turn your essay into the Scholarship Office by 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 17th.

Recipients will be asked to participate in a short award ceremony on Saturday, May 2 at 3:00 p.m. at Los Medanos College during the Cultural Arts Festival.

It's not too late to apply for 2008-2009 Financial Aid!

We can help you with the FAFSA application! Register now to attend the Financial Aid Workshop on Wednesday, April 22nd from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Last day to submit documents for next Financial Aid payday: Friday, April 17th by 2:00 p.m. BOG Fee Waiver and general financial aid questions can be handled at the front counter. For other assistance, call extension 3139 to make an appointment or drop in on Tuesday or Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. For SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress) Workshops, contact the Financial Aid Office.

Transfer Center News
Have you been accepted for transfer this fall? Unsure what to do next? The Transfer Center is planning workshops for transferring students to help you with your next steps. Keep an eye on the Transfer Center website for the upcoming workshop schedule. Some of the topics will include how to apply for financial aid, apply for housing and register for classes at the university.

Join the LMC Rotaract Club!
Rotaract is a community-service club. This semester we are planning a dinner to benefit children in Northern Uganda, participating in Relay for Life, and going to the zoo for a cleanup day. We are also making care packages for troops overseas and will be working at a fundraiser for the Bedford Center. For more information, contact our president, Morgan Livingston.

The Rotaract Club and Honors Program invite you to a fabulous pasta dinner on April 4th at 6:00 p.m. to benefit Invisible Children, a charity organization that helps schools and students in Northern Uganda. Tickets are $15 and all are welcome. Come and enjoy a live jazz band, a speaker from Uganda, and be entered in a drawing for a chance to win exciting prizes, including a football signed by Joe Montana.
