USCCB Legal Analysis of Health Care Bill and Executive Order March 25
From USCCB Ad campaign. |
WASHINGTON - "The purpose of this legal memorandum is to identify the problems of the recently passed Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Pub. L. No. 111-148 ("PPACA" or "the Act"), in relation to abortion funding and conscience protection, and then to assess whether (and if so, how) the corresponding Executive Order of March 24, 2010, corrects those problems. Although we wish it were otherwise, we must conclude that PPACA poses serious problems in these two areas, and that the Executive Order does not correct those problems." read more

Project Rachel Updated Material New Pamphlets, Ads for Nationwide Parish Use
|
WASHINGTON - As part of the ongoing efforts of the Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities to
strengthen the outreach and ministry of Project Rachel, the Catholic Church's
post-abortion ministry, the Secretariat developed a variety of new materials
for priests and Project Rachel leaders. A new post-abortion resource manual
was distributed in February One of our brand new ads designed to reach post-abortive women and men. | to all bishops and Project Rachel directors. While
emphasizing the role of the priest and the treasure of Divine Mercy, the manual
discusses the steps of healing for mothers and fathers of aborted children, as
well as grandparents, siblings and others impacted by the abortion decision. It
provides guidance to Project Rachel directors on how to strengthen and publicize
the ministry and to pastors on how to link their parish to the diocesan Project
Rachel office and how to make their parish a place of welcome and Reconciliation
for all who have sinned.
Outreach materials for diocesan and parish use include a new pamphlet on
Project Rachel post-abortion ministry and a variety of ads available in various sizes. The tagline for each is "Come
back to God, who is love and Mercy." To learn more about our efforts on Project Rachel, visit here. To find out more about the Church's post-abortion healing ministry,

Papal Pro-Life Passage
|
"As far as the right to life is concerned, we must denounce its
widespread violation in our society.... Abortion and embryonic
experimentation constitute a direct denial of that attitude of
acceptance of others which is indispensable for establishing lasting
relationships of peace."
- Pope Benedict XVI, Message for the Celebration of the World Day of Peace

Prayer for a Mother Before Childbirth
Lord God, Creator of the human race, your Son, through the working of the Holy Spirit, was born of a woman, so that he might pay the age-old debt of sin and save us by his redemption.
Receive with kindness the prayer of your servant as she asks for the birth of a healthy child. Grant that she may safely deliver a son or a daughter to be numbered among your family, to serve you in all things, and to gain eternal life.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
