FRANKLIN METHOD: Maximize what you do most:
Pelvic and Abdominal Strength through Walking, Sitting and Standing with Eric Franklin

Dates: Sun  4/5/2009
Time:  10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Cost: $110
Maximize what you do most: Pelvic and Abdominal Strength through Walking, Sitting and Standing. Sitting, Standing and walking are the most common movements in daily life. During an average lifetime a person in the USA will spend 100.000 hours in the sitting position making it well worth learning how to sit in a healthful manner. If you can become an "expert" at the basic movements of life, you have gone a long way to create safe, flexible and strong joints and muscles. Inefficient sitting standing and walking is also detrimental to your back, your breathing patterns, your circulation and mood level. This workshop explores the proper function of these activities and uses experiential imagery exercises to increase the shelf life or our body by minimizing the wear and tear of daily activities. During the course of the class will learn how to improve our sitting posture using imagery and ball exercises. The class will introduce the essential knowledge required to walk and even climb stairs with efficiency creating balanced strength and good posture in the process. The benefits are an overall improvement in our health an extended lifetime of our joints and muscles. Last but not least, sitting, standing and walking will become an interesting and fun physical activity which is always available to improve our movement skills.

At a staff meeting, there was a request for a time that teachers could get together, share ideas, questions, working out and problem solving. Especially with this recession, I would like to offer a monthly meeting time at a very reasonable price of $20 for a two hour session.
