How to use Pilates to improve Gait

June 23-24
This course was designed by Marika Molnar.
Learn how to train your eye to see Gait and how to improve unhealthy patterns.
Good walking is key to injury prevention.

Marika Molnar said about the importance of Gait,

In order to move forward, you must have adequate control of your trunk, good oxygenation, and good expenditure of energy so that you are not fatigued after just a half-mile walk. That comes from each segment of the spine contributing its share of the motion as well as the other segments in the lower extremities, particularly the knee and the ankle.

In this course you will learn:

  • How to improve the physical benefits of Pilates exercises
  • How to incorporate open and closed kinetic chain activities
  • How the gait cycle encourages spinal nutrition
  • How force-couples work in the body to move it forward
  • How to observe faulty movement patterns and make corrections
  • How to achieve better balance when weight bearing
  • How to have a carry-over from exercises to real life strategies

This will be the last continueing education Course for the PhysicalMind for 2007 taught at Movements Afoot.
