June was the first Newsletter to arrive since last September.  I thought the ship had been abandoned and I really missed it.  Now I understand.  Is there any possibility of getting those missing editions - October 2010 to May 2011?

 - Wendy Plumb C'57

They have made reservations for dinner for 30 people  at the hotel's restaurant. It is a nice restaurant with an adjoining outside patio. The hotel has also agreed to set aside a number of rooms for those that choose to stay at the end of the evening.  We just need to provide the numbers.

For next month's edition we are going to attempt to feature alumni

from classes 1980 through 1985. In order to do so we need the help from everyone in that era. Send us your school photos, submit your individual photos and bios, tell us about your memories of CCHS.

The ball is in your court.

Saint  Lambert - History

Club de Golf St-Lambert

Inaugurated in 1931, the St. Lambert Golf Club had  Bill Boothman as a professional until 1939. The first Clubhouse was located on L'Espérance Street and the canteen was operated by Fred Wright and his family.

During the second world war, the Clubhouse was moved to a new location right next to the lawn bowling club and was run by concessionaires of whom the most famous was Bessy Reeves who did a superb job and was well and still is well thought of by everyone.

The first president was Doc Rellis. Then, in 1964, Marcel Lalonde had the first proshop on a small corner of the verandah of the old Clubhouse then known as the 'shack'.

The new Clubhouse was constructed in 1969 the land and building owned by the City of St. Lambert from whom they rent. The whole course in now on this side of the tracks but in 1931 the first tee was on L'Espérance then the 9th green was where the arena is today and part of the course was located on Oak Street.

This year the "Rockpile" celebrates it's 80th anniversary
