Members Edition -February 2011  # 67
Editorial by Angus Cross

 Angus July

One of the best things about a Canadian winter is that many of us head south to warmer climes. In just a few days Joanne and I are off to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic for 2 weeks of sun and fun at an adults only, all inclusive resort. No shoveling, no bundling up against the cold, no meals to plan and prepare .......

A few weeks ago I once again used my CCHS Class of 1960

as a test bed to try and come up with a better design of a class page on our web site. The idea being to combine the list with individual profiles and photos. It was a lot of work but I was rewarded by the receipt of an email from classmate Peter Ineson whom I hadn't seen in over 50 years. Amazingly he lived here in Halifax. We got together for a coffee and a chat at Tim's. I am pleased to say he saw fit to join the association and has even helped in locating of a few of the missing. So over time and depending on the receipt of profiles and photos I will be changing your class page to the new format.

We are now using Permission Reminder on all alumni association mass emails.

Permission reminder is an optional message that appears in small print at the top of the email. Use has become an industry best practice and may improve our email open rate.

Alumni emails & notes to the Editor

Love the newsletter. Keep up the good work. Bob Bruce (brother of Carole Burr nee Bruce, Comox BC) - Anita & Bob - Cold Lake, AB

You've done it again, producing another excellent newsletter. Peter Payan C'59 - Montreal, QC

I hadn't intended for you to include that note in the newsletter, as Susan
was not an alumni, and I didn't expect promotional info in the
newsletter, but seeing it there, I really appreciate that many more
people may at least consider buying the book.  Thanks again. Will Arnold C.70 - Calgary, AB

I am sure you guys don't get told often enough about what a great job you are doing.  You give so many of us so much pleasure in reading what you have put together each month.  This month was particularly fun for Ross and me as we looked at pictures of so many old friends, including my brother, Don Morrison.  Thanks doesn't seem adequate, but I guess it is all I can say. - Dale Wallace C''51 - St. Lambert, QC

We want to unsubscribe. We are fed up with your emails
