Angus July
My wife, Joanne, and I left Halifax on Wednesday morning for the 13 hour drive to St. Lambert to attend Reunion 2010. The trip up The Trans Canada Highway was uneventful, thanks to Karen, my Garmin GPS advisor. We spent Wednesday night in Edmunston, NB and arrived around 4pm on Thursday, at the Sandman Hotel in Longueuil.

Friday morning we took a drive around St. Lambert and checked out our old homes, arriving at the St. Lambert Golf Club around 11:30 am. Harvey Carter and I had arranged a lunch for our Class of 1960. The lunch was a huge success with about 40 people attending. It was a great time allowing us all to reacquaint with old classmates like Bill McLean, Rod MacKinnon,  Brian Lagueux, and Michelle Foley, and others, all of whom we had not seen in 50 years. Everyone seemed to enjoy the 3 hours we spent relating what we were up to these days, and also recalling old tales from our years at CCHS.

Then we were off to the school to pick up our registration packages. ......

Alumni Comments

I thought I should let you know that my uncle, David Leyland, C'45 St. Lambert High School, died last year at the age of 82 after a long bout with cancer.
David took great pleasure in the photographs of his class, the many shots of St. Lambert (then and now), and hearing of his classmates' news over the years.
Many thanks to the contributors to the Alumni website. - Sherrill Cameron (Wilson) C'57

This is just a note to say how much I enjoyed attending the C.C.H.S.
reunion. I recall saying that I would make mention of the event on my radio
program. What I failed to mention is that I am now 3 weeks ahead with
recorded programs. Which means that the show I recorded today, mentioning
the reunion, won't be aired until June 15th.

In closing, thank you for all that you do to maintain the connection between
us students and our high school. - Joe Sealy C.M. C'56

Saint-Lambert loses one of its chief builders
Saint-Lambert, Friday, May 28, 2010 - Upon learning of the death of Eric Sharp, the
Mayor of Saint-Lambert, Philippe Brunet, expressed his condolences to the family
and close friends of Mr. Sharp on behalf of City Council and the municipal
administration.
"It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of Eric Sharp. Saint-Lambert has lost one of its builders, a man who deserves honour and recognition for the role he played in shaping hiscommunity. On behalf of my colleagues at City Council and the employees of the City of Saint-Lambert, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to his family and close friends," said Mayor Philippe Brunet. Eric Sharp contributed to the development of sport in Saint-Lambert in his capacity as the first director of the Recreation Department from 1958 to 1986.
His leadership qualities propelled him rapidly to the helm of the municipal department responsible for the organization of sports activities. His many accomplishments include the presidency of the Association québécoise des loisirs et des parcs, from 1961 to 1966.
Mr. Sharp was one of the original organizers of the Saint-Lambert/Marblehead hockey exchange, which remains, to this day, the longest-running such exchange in North America. Mr. Sharp continued to be involved in the City of Saint-Lambert, serving as mayor from 1986 to 1990. In 2002, the Saint-Lambert arena was named after him.
