For the last  six and a half years I have attempted to understand the psyche of  those that attended high school in Saint Lambert. I have used all of whatever talents I ever possessed, and still am at a loss.

  •  Are all people so strange, or is there some kind of a Quebec connotation?
  • How come some alumni have no interest whatsoever in their formative high school years?
  • Why do some people take over 2 months to open an email?
  • Why are the younger generations so secretive? What do they know that I don't?
  • Why are people so reluctant to have their photo and profile shown on-line?
  • Why are alumni that don't live in Quebec more interested than those that do?
  • Why do "come from aways" donate more than those who live in St. Lambert.
  • Why do grads who moved to Ontario become "fence sittters" and never offer strong opinions on anything?
  • Do the only "excrement movers" in the world live in Nova Scotia?
  • Why would someone submit a spam report because of an email they received about their old school?
  • Why would someone agree to be nominated to Who's Who and then not honour that committment by assisting with bio information?
  • Why are alumni reluctant to post to the Alumni Forum?

Love to hear what you think about any of the above.
Angus

Alumni stories & articles
I missed the May Reunion Committee meeting because we were in Alberta at the time. Peter PayanAs usual we travelled there by train then we rented a car and drove south to Calgary for a 1 night stay. Arriving there we found the street on which our hotel was located blocked by construction of a new platform for their Tram LRT. After a few missed turns, we  found our way into the Hotel garage.

The next day we drove to Banff for a 2 night stay. I worked at the Banff Springs Hotel during the summer of 1960 as a Caddy on their Golf  Course. Both the hotel and grounds are still the same though the 'Staff Quarters have improved significently.

On Sunday, we drove to Lake Louise and had breakfast at the Chateau Lake Louise.

Monday morning we drove along deserted highways from Banff to the Icefields highway and the route 11 turnoff for Rocky Mountain House. Not until we were within 50km of the town did we see any traffic but the snow started to fall heavily as we drove. My wife counted 21 deer and a bear along the roadsides.

We spent the day at the hotel in Rocky Mountain House watching the snow fall and wishing that we had winter boots and a scraper for the car.

The weather channel reported that some parts of Alberta received up to 40cm of the stuff. Unusual for May 18th for sure.

The next morning, after scraping the car windows with a scraper borrowed from a waitress in the hotel, we left for Edmonton.

A wrong turn as we neared the city brought us to the West Edmonton Mall where a kind person drew us a map of how to get to our hotel.

With our train home leaving the city at 11:45pm the next day I had to pay for 2 nights accomodation at the hotel.

All in all, it as a great adventure and very much a success!

Just read the May newsletter - nicely done. Good to see the expansion project for the school is now underway. It's long overdue and will certainly help secure and maintain our school's future.

In the Kindergarten photo featured in the newsletter, there is a Donna last name unknown in the back row. I believe her last name was Reese.
Another blank filled in! I really enjoy the newsletter and photos. Great job!

Yes I am planning on going,, I have not done anything concrete  in the plans but have been planning to attend for over a year...  I would need accomodation fairly close to the school.. I have multiple chemical sensitivities and have a hard time in public places anywhere, allergic to alcohol and perfumes, chemicals etc so need a place, bed and breakfast, motel, something fairly close  so if I get a reaction I can go back to my room and recover... Do you have any suggestions?  this is the one biggest question mark I have is where would I stay...  do you have any ideas. and you can put me on the planning to attend.. I believe Robin Pollitt is planning to attend also.. Many thanks...  Penny Hodgson-Dell  C'63

Editor's Note:  If anyone has an accomodation suggestion for Penny please send her an email  Penny

Hey folks, just thought I'd rattle a few cages as a reminder that this time next year, we should all be together once again.  I know I will be and I sure hope to see all of you back for another fun time.  If I can make it from B.C., surely most of you who are much closer can too.
I believe that a mini reunion for just us 60's seniors is being planned for some time pre reunion.....fantastic!!
Let's get our names on the "Plan to Attend" list asap.
Countdown begins.....365 days left..... Flo Hinks (aka Florence Trudeau) C'60

I didn't go to Chambly Academy. I graduated fromCCHS in 1964. I was there the day Kennedy was shot, writing an exam in the gym. Mr. Templeton didn't tell
us about the tragedy until after the exam was over. Why can't there be any tradition and continuity and history in Canada? In England, where my mother was
born, buildings and names are not as transient as they are here. The church where she was married, the hall where she had her reception, the college in the town,
even the bakery, all kept their names and location.

My wedding reception was at the Aviation Hotel in St. Hubert - this building was torn down years ago.Now my high school has changed names. ....
