Earlier this month our  chamblycounty.com  website entered  into it's 6th. year of operation. In keeping with our committment to our members, we recently have taken steps to enhance the security, of Class Lists, on our website.

In addition, we will be placing more emphasis on Member Profiles.
Until the end of January 2009 members may upload their profile, photo, and slide show, without any additional charges.

Also during the New Year we will be placing more information in the Alumni Forum. We hope that this will cut down somewhat the length of our monthly newsletter and also encourage our readers to share their thoughts with us.

Happy Holidays everyone, and Thanks for your support during the past year.

NEWS RELEASE

The revival of the Sports Hall of Fame:

a celebration of sports and our athletes!

Saint-Lambert, November 19, 2008 - "It is with great pleasure that I am announcing the revival of the Saint-Lambert Sports Hall of Fame. For me, a Hall of Fame is more than just a showcase containing photos and trophies; it not only represents the dynamism of the sporting community in Saint-Lambert but is also, and above all, a symbol of community involvement and personal fulfillment."

With these words, Mayor Sean Finn opened the ceremony marking the renaissance of the Sports Hall of Fame, held on Sunday, at Collège Durocher. This event saw more than 350 athletes and people involved in various sports organizations gather together to celebrate amateur sports and pay tribute to those who have distinguished themselves through remarkable personal performances or through their significant contributions to sports in our city. In particular, three new members were

inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame:

the Community Sports Association (CSA), who helped forge the history of sport in this city,

and two Lambertans, Okill Stuart, one of the founders of the

Saint-Lambert Curling Club, and Eric Sharp, the first recreation director and a former mayor of Saint-Lambert.

To underline the importance of this event, the Mayor explained:

"In recognizing the achievements of Saint-Lambert athletes, teams, and coaches, we want to emphasize that getting out there and playing sports, for competition or just for fun, is one of those enjoyable social activities that sustain our great quality of life in Saint-Lambert. I know

that all of you who participate in a sport, because it's your passion or just because you want to keep fit, understand the importance of sports and sportsmanship in your life. You know how sports can motivate, bridge the generations, generate respect, encourage a spirit of cooperation, develop perseverance, and even be a source of high

emotion."

Economic Crisis in UK Worsens

This year the broadcast of the Queen's Christmas Message will be delayed two hours. This will allow Her Majesty sufficient time to return to Buckingham Palace from her new work place.
