Who's Who |
WHO'S WHO CANDIDATES
While you may not recognize these alumni as individuals who, since high school graduation, have followed career paths that distinguish them for their accomplishments and for their contributions to society, most alumni do know former schoolmates who should be so recognized. The Alumni Association is asking that you take a moment of your time to reflect on such persons and to have them introduced for all our benefit. It is easiest to nominate a candidate for the WHO'S WHO directory through the 'On-line' method, which is accessible simply by 'clicking' "here".

Pumping up the pomp: The skirl of the bagpipes might be an acquired taste, but it's long been part of McGill's Convocation ceremonies.
The skirl of the bagpipes - along with the swirl of hundreds of proud parents and family members suddenly descending on lower campus - is one of the tell-tale signs that Convocation is here again.
McGill hires a team of three professional pipers to add pomp to the march of the gowned graduates, their professors and various university dignitaries along the main road from the Arts Building to the Convocation tent.
At the helm of this team is Jeff McCarthy, CCHS Class of 1985, a now familiar face on campus after seven years playing the pipes for McGill. Jeff is a 40-year-old Master Corporal in the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada who has been piping for close to 20 years.

The Board of Directors extends it's thanks and best wishes to retiring Chambly Academy Principal, Andy Nardozza. Andy has served on the alumni association board for the last two years.
The Board of Directors extends a welcome to the new Principal of Chambly Academy, Michael Languay. Formerly Michael was the Vice-Principal at Centennial Regional High School in Greenfield Park.
"I am thrilled at being given the opportunity to be Principal at Chambly Academy. I know what a strong community school it is and can't wait to get started.
Andy Nardozza has told me a little about the Alumni Association and how supportive you have been to the school. I am looking forward to meeting the executive and working with you in the future. The website is very impressive as are the accomplishments of the Association so far!
My family lived in Preville and my younger bother and sister, Paul and Darragh both graduated from Chambly County. The year I finished at Preville Elementary we were zoned for LeMoyne D'Iberville. Two years later when Paul finished at Preville the zoning had switched to Chambly. Having already spent two years at LeMoyne I did not want to switch schools so I stayed there." - Michael Languay

I just wanted to let you know how much I've enjoyed the Alumni Newsletters that arrive every month! It's nice to see what others are doing and to learn a little more about St. Lambert as well.
Suzanne Bishop (Kennedy) of Halifax, NS, C'64 writes:
I would like to post that my father, Roy Kennedy passed away May 18, 1989. He taught at CCHS for many years and had the respect of both staff and students. He taught from the 1950's till retirement in 1968.
Barry Elder of Guelph, ON, C'63 writes:
I sent the May newsletter to my uncle Stan, who grew up in St Lambert on Dulwich Ave. but commuted to Montreal High for his last years of high school.. He was blown away. His response: I was able to open the pictures. They are a terrific collection of memory joggers. You would not believe how much time I spent looking at them. It certainly took a lot of work of dedicated old boys and girls to produce it. Barry many thanks for sending it to me. I enjoyed the memory review.
