| Dear Friends,
Just a quick reminder about this Friday's (Feb 26th) special Lenten opportunity.
At 7:00pm in the Parish Hall, we will briefly review the details and options regarding a funeral or memorial service in the Episcopal Church. We will consider the theology behind our Episcopal Church's "Burial of the Dead," and suggested options regarding readings, music, etc will be provided in written for. Of course, there is no expectation that you will complete your funeral plans at this session -- just that you be given the pertinent information, and will have the opportunity to ask questions. It is much easier to consider these matters "pre-need" - and any guidance you leave for your loved ones is a gift, indeed.
At 7:30pm in the Parish Hall, we will move into a brief presentation about "Advance Directives." Most of us have been confronted with this subject when we, or someone in our family, were hospitalized. This session will provide an opportunity to more fully understand the whole matter, without the added stress of the hospital setting.
We are very privileged to have a guest presenter for this subject: Jim Gould, an Episcopalian, instructor of Philosophy at McHenry County College, a member of the Chicagoland area End-of-Life Task Force, and a member of the Medical Ethics Committee at Centegra Health Systems.
All are welcome to attend. There is no cost for this exceptional opportunity. |
