Greetings!
Seems each Sunday at St. Ann's is quite an inspirational experience. So it was yesterday. With Veteren's Day coming up this week (Nov 11), we remembered those on our active duty military prayer roster as we also prayed for all who serve now, or ever have served. By the way, here is a link to our Active Duty Prayer List. Please remember them in your prayers.
We've been preparing for the rare visit of our Diocesan Bishop - The Rt. Rev. Jeffery D. Lee. THIS IS THE WEEK IT HAPPENS! I encourage you to pick up your phone and call (or e-mail) a few family and friends - and invite them to join you at church this coming Sunday, Nov 15th, at 10:00am.
Yes! The Wine Tasting Event on Saturday evening (past) was wonderful! Thank you Joanell & Mike Powers, Susie Scott, and ALL THE REST OF YOU who participated in any way. . . selling tickets, preparing gift baskets, and attending the event. It was a great success!
In an effort to reduce the size of this communique, we've changed the calendar, Book Group selection, vestry listing (and more) -- all to the Quicklinks in the left column below. Such information is also be available on our website. The Quicklinks will change from time to time. . . so keep an eye on them.
That's all for the moment. Watch your e-mail for further announcements now and then.
God Bless You . . .

Woodstock Area Churches - Serving Others!
This week our St. Ann's volunteers served 16 homeless guests a delicious lunch of beef stew, garlic bread, fruit cups, cookies, brownies, plus milk, orange juice, apple cider and morning fruit. Our main chef was Patty Felker with her sous chef, Nancy Wright; Patrice Braun served as pastry chef; while Rita Green and Dinah Hoppe supplied the drinks and helped with serving and clean-up. Our efforts were deeply appreciated by all who enjoyed the feast. Our next date to do this is DECEMBER 31st -New Year's Eve Day. Patty Felker has graciously offered to prepare the main course, but help is needed to provide the other items and also to help serve. If anyone is available that day, please contact Dinah Hoppe - 815-338-1360. Our Share the Warmth Coat Drive was also a great success. The empty racks said it all. 500 coats,[ including 125 children's coats] and other winter items were distributed. We would like to thank Patrice Braum, Tom and Dinah Hoppe for donating their time to help with this cause. Also thanks to the Parish for their generous donations. This year's Walk for Hunger raised $8,500 with more donations still coming in. Our Church donated $250 from Patrice's pledges and what Dinah collected the day of the walk. |
