July 26, 2009 Rector's Reflection
Another inspiring morning at St. Ann's today.
Terree Emrich was our organist, and Becky, Brian, and Lenore Clow presented a beautiful Anthem (Yes, I did call them the "Von Clow Family Singers" - for those of you who remember "The Sound of Music").
My homily was about the Gospel reading today . . . John's version of Jesus feeding 5,000 people with nothing more than a few loaves and a couple fish. It was a sermon with a name, a rarity for me: "What are you hungry for?"
Next week, I've already promised to reflect in my homily on the escapades of King David and the beauty, Bathsheba. . . there's sooooooo much more to that story coming up next week. You'll just have to wait until Sunday.
Seventy people filled the pews, even though many people are out of town today. If you were present - thank you for making the service so meaningful. If you were not present -- be safe in your travels, be rested in your activities, be well in body and spirit, and be at St. Ann's when next you are able.
Please, scroll down the announcements and articles below - you don't want to miss anything going on at St. Ann's! Thank you.
God Bless You! Rev. Pat Conley -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update July 26, 2009
About Our Cash-Flow "Crunch" at St. Ann's . . . . . . . . . . . .
Yes, we received adequate contributions this week to cover the upcoming July 30 payroll and bills which are due. Thanks you so very much for responding to the following message that has been circulated during the past week: St. Ann's depends on pledge income as our major source of funding. At present, 54 individuals (or families) have pledged $148,497 towards our 2009 general operating budget. Our records indicate that, as of June 30th, we have received $70,677.50 in such pledge payments. Our expenses have been held down to a level below budget. Still, we are presently experiencing cash-flow challenges. The bottom line is that we are running slightly behind budget on our pledge income, which has made it difficult recently to meet our payroll on time. Understandably, some parish families have been severely impacted by the current economic situation. If anyone is able to send financial support above-and-beyond your 2009 pledge (or, make a NEW pledge if you have not already done so) -- to make up for those who would like to support, but who are not able to do so right now -- your generosity will be greatly appreciated. We ask everyone to again review your pledge and/or other contributions to St. Ann's. Any help you can provide to assist us through this summertime "cash-crunch" is greatly appreciated. Note: Payroll occurs on the 15th and last day of each month. Additional cash support before the July 31st payroll will be especially important! Thanks so much.
