St. Ann's Episcopal Church
The St. Ann's "ANGEL TREE" is here - your opportunity to make a special gift during the Christmas season.
Dear St. Ann's Friends --

Our annual "Angel Tree" is now in the parish hall.  Susie Scott, Joan Purdy, and Roma Simons are coordinating our parish efforts in this ministry.

This year we are providing gifts for three teenagers from District 200, to families and children in need through the Woodstock Christmas Clearinghouse, and to elderly individuals at the Heritage Woods Assisted Living facility in McHenry.

Susie's note below provides more details.  I thank you on behalf of those who will recieve your gifts.  God bless you.

From Susie:

 Good afternoon Rev. Pat -
We now have three areas, which will touch a wide spectrum of people:

Woodstock District 200 has given us a list of three boys to assist, mostly with clothing.  I'm happy to say that quite a few of these items have already been picked up by some of our parishioners.  My thanks to them!
Anything still outstanding will be on the tree on Sunday, 12/7/08.  These gifts do not need to be wrapped and are due at the church on 12/14/08.

Woodstock Christmas Clearing House has said they could use our help with children's toys.  The age bracket where the most need is for children ages 12 to 16.  These new toys do not need to be wrapped.  We will need them at the church by 12/14/08.  A Clearing House volunteer will be happy to come to St. Ann's on Monday, December 15, 2008 and pick up our gifts.  I bet some of the children in our parish would love the opportunity to shop for another child in our community.

Heritage Woods - Assisted Living Community in McHenry.  They have asked for 10 to 15 gift baskets with generic items included within them and festively wrapped.  These items are very basic and include (but are not limited to) things like: nuts, candies, cookies, shaving cream, body lotion, stamps, envelopes, jigsaw puzzles, baking soda, shampoo, deodorant, hair spray, dish soap, laundry detergent, olive oil.  They would need gift baskets to accommodate both men and women.  They require these prior to their 12/23/08 holiday party.  They could be delivered on Monday, 12/22/08, giving the folks at St. Ann's until 12/21/08 to contribute.

Each one of these organizations have expressed their thanks to us and for our kindness, care and generosity - Susie Scott
