Nut growers in California's San Joaquin Valley have developed new harvesting equipment that reduces the amount of dust produced during harvesting without effecting production speeds.
Almonds are the second-highest grossing crop in the area, and the dust kicked up when picking up the nuts shaken from the trees can not only pose health risks for workers, but can send dense dust clouds across roads and into neighboring areas. Read the full article here. |
