| Almond Crop Gives Economy a Boost |
 The latest forecast by the USDA for a bumper crop of California Almonds is bringing welcome relief to the farms of the San Joaquin Valley. Almonds are the state's number one farm export, and the prediction of 1.65 billion lbs for the August harvest is up 17% from last year, and up 8% from May's subjective forecast.
