Pam & Joe Gilchrist, partners in Shaklee's "Clean that's Green" movement let us know Earth Day is just around the corner: April 22nd. To celebrate, instead of taking a fossil-fuel-burning taxi, we took the "green way"-- a rickshaw...right in the middle of Manhattan! What a ride...it was cool and we sliced though traffic.

California Almonds

But on Earth Day we can reflect on other good reasons to use California almonds. They're domestic. Grown in the USA where fair labor practices are enforced. High standards of food safety and quality abound.
While we'd love to grow almonds "locally", that's not what nature had in mind for this special crop. You can't grow them in Connecticut, Minnesota, or even Florida. In fact California is the only state that has a commercial almond crop. But by using California almonds, we're saving fossil fuel because they don't have to be shipped from abroad.
