Kyle Vincent-Sweet Alice Brook
Concert in the Barn-September 30
Sign up before Sept. 16 for Prize Drawing!

Kyle Vincent is a talented song-writer and a skilled entertainer. Kyle performs all over the U.S. and in Japan and, being my cousin, consented to try out the Barn Venue last year. We had so much fun that he will do it again!  Kyle's music was described by one of my friends as eco-folk-romantic-pop. Listen to the song here and at the link on my website and come to your own conclusion. Maybe the donkey will join the sheep in singing background vocals.

Sign up before September 16 to have your name in a drawing to win a prize-three winners will be drawn! Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids 5-19 (under 5 free). Reserve your space by clicking this link.

Jacob yarn
More Yarn!
White, lilac, black

Just when I thought I had all my yarn in for the year, more came! I forgot that I had asked for sport weight yarn in three natural colors. The photo here shows all the 2012 Jacob yarns now in stock. To see the new sport weight yarn click here.

Jacob roving Carded Fiber
SOFT SOFT SOFT

Isn't the new Jacob fiber beautiful? All the natural Jacob colors--white, gray, black--are randomly mixed in this roving. Click here for details.

Weaving With Chenille
Three tips for weaving
chenille scarf
Soft, luxurious chenille scarves. Everyone loves them, but many weavers are afraid to tackle them. My top 4 tips:
  • Buy high quality chenille yarn.
  • Keep yarns in control while warping.
  • Dress loom back-to-front.
  • Use a close sett and beat firmly.
If you want to tackle your first chenille scarf with support you might want to take a  2-day Chenille Scarf Class. I don't have a date planned for this. E-mail me to get on the contact list and we'll schedule a date.

Don't want to weave a scarf? You can see my scarves and other handwovens at The Artery in Davis.

House for Rent
Nothing to do with fiber but...
rental house
The little house on our property is now available for rent. It is 2 bedroom/1 bath with a wrap-around porch that adds lots of living space. Great garden potential, great views, great neighbors! For details contact me.
Feel free to pass this info along.

Fall is coming. Lots of fiber shows on the schedule. Sorting breeding groups. Getting hay in the barn. Shearing. Weaving. Lots to do!
