 Exploring the Fiber Color Wheel
July 14, 2012
If you like color this is the class for you! We start with 3 colors of fiber and combine them to create a 12-color wheel as well as tints, tones, shades, and other blends. This process really helps you to understand what you read in books about color and the resulting yarn is so much more interesting than batch-dyed yarn. Read more here.
As always if you want to take a class but at a time I don't have listed, contact me and we can schedule a class.

Watching Lambs
For your amusement!
Lambs are getting big and it will be weaning time soon. I have two kinds of sheep customers--those who want to buy sheep for breeding stock or fiber pets and those who want to eat lamb. I need to hear from both of you. Information about butcher lambs is here. I need to know how many lambs to save for my gourmet customers. If you want to start or add to your Jacob flock look at the ewe lamb page and click the links to see the ram lambs and adults. I continually update photos.

Summer Plans?
My friend, Kenna, loves to teach people to spin & knit. She took some dyed Jacob yarn with her on a rafting trip through the Grand Canyon and taught her fellow rafters knitting. Where will you be spinning, knitting, and weaving this summer? Let the rest of us share your adventures by sending me photos (that I can use on the web) of your Jacob wool projects on-the-road. I'll post photos in my newsletter or on the website. Send photos here. Let's make this more interesting--everyone who sends a photo will be entered into a monthly drawing. June's prize: $10 gift certificate. |

Visiting the Shop
New products all the time! The shop is usually open Thursdays and some Saturdays, but there are a lot of off-farm events coming up. I will continue to update the hours as my schedule changes so check the website before you come. |
