Greetings!

On Tuesday, June 19, we will pleased to welcome a panel of experts to address the topic of:  DOL Resources to Help Employers Connect with and Hire Qualified Vets.  Heading up the panel will be Michael Espinosa, DOL/ ArizonaDirector for Veterans' Employment and Training (DVET).   

Jackie Zepp from the Department of Veterans Affairs will share services that may be provided by the VR&E VetSuccess Program, including: 

• Comprehensive rehabilitation evaluation to determine abilities, skills, and interests for employment
• Vocational counseling and rehabilitation planning for employment services
• Employment Services such as job-training, job seeking skills, resume development, and other work readiness assistance
• Assistance finding and keeping a job including the use of special employer incentives and job accommodations
• On the Job Training (OJT), apprenticeships, and non-paid work experiences
• Post-secondary training at a college, vocational, technical or business school

Lawrence "Butch" Weiss, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve will discuss how ESGR facilitates and promotes a cooperative culture of employer support for National Guard and Reserve service by:

• Developing and advocating mutually beneficial initiatives
• Recognizing outstanding employer support
• Increasing awareness of applicable laws and policies resolving potential conflicts between employers and their service members
• Acting as the employers' principal advocate within the Department of Defense
