As we welcome in a new year, I am pleased with the many ways Quad A/AILG has helped educate our members in 2011 through monthly membership meetings, workshops, seminars, and the Annual April Membership and November Compliance Conferences. Your feedback on the quality of our events and speakers is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our Quad A Board Members without whose support and assistance this would not have happened.
Board Succession
I'm pleased to announce that effective January 01, 2012, Gail Painter resumes her role as Quad A Vice President. On December 09, 2010, the Board of Directors approved Gail's request for a one year sabbatical in order to complete her Master's Degree in Human Resources Management. I personally want to thank Maria Sandoval for taking on the Vice President responsibilities during 2011 in addition to her duties as Treasurer. As in all she commits to, Maria performed brilliantly in both capacities. Thank you, Maria, and welcome back, Gail!
We announced in November the appointment of Beth Call as Legal Counsel for Quad A, and I personally want to welcome her on board.

Awards and Recognition Banquet
On December 8, Quad A hosted an Awards & Recognition Banquet for its founders including Past Presidents, Presidents, Vice Presidents, Treasurers and Reporting Secretaries for their 5, 10, 15 and 20+ years of service to the Association. Arizona Public Service was also recognized for 17 years of board representation. For those of you who attended, you know that we had a great time with food, fun and dancing. Special "Thanks" to Maria Sandoval for her leadership role in planning the Banquet.

Southern Nevada Industry Liaison Group
We are pleased to announce that the SNILG elected in 2011 to become an affiliate of Quad A/AZILG. The partnership will open opportunities for both ILG's to be more visible at the National level, including scheduling future workshops and conferences in Las Vegas. Our "Thanks" to Flossie Christensen, Chair of the Southern Nevada Industry Liaison Group and SNILG Board Members for making this partnership possible.
Quad A Membership
Since Quad A's inception in 1975, our goal has been to provide our members and the general public with information to keep them current on and compliant with the ever-changing laws which govern business practices and human resource management for federal contractors. We do this through our monthly meetings and workshops as well as our annual membership and compliance conferences. For those of you who are not yet Quad A/AILG members, we encourage you to join. The very low membership fee of $75 is more than reimbursed to you through discounts to workshops and conferences. For membership information, to join or renew go to our website: www.azquada.org. (Quick reminder: ALLmemberships are due for renewal on January 1 each year -- so renew now!)

2012 Calendar of Events
With the Holidays comes the inevitable turning of the calendar to a new year (and your associated resolutions). Many "Thanks" to Quad A members who attended the Annual Breakfast Roundtable meeting on December 06, 2011. Based on your input and feedback we have put together an awesome schedule of monthly workshops, seminars and conferences. I invite all our members and nonmembers to sign up for the January 24, 2012, half-day "AAP Boot Camp" on how to prepare a compliant AAP. You will not want to miss this workshop, delivered by one of our local OFCCP Compliance Officers along with Bruce Kuehnl, Former OFCCP District Director with the Portland Office.

Appreciation
Lastly, as a member of Quad A for the past 30 years and as President of the Association for 17 years, it has been a rewarding experience for me. I have great respect for Quad A/AILG, its members, and the Board of Directors with whom I have worked -- for their dedication to each other and to the organization. I am proud of our accomplishments and believe the foundation of Quad A/AILG is stronger today than it has ever been. I appreciate the opportunity that the Board of Directors has afforded me in leading this GREAT organization.
Wishing you all the best in 2012!
