Product Placements

Product placements and priority requests can now be applied for using our new form, which allows you to submit product placements and priority requests for all services in a clear and efficient way.

If you would like your titles to be considered for a product placement or a priority request, it is essential that you submit this form at least 3 weeks in advance of the placement date.

Before you submit the form please ensure that the relevant releases are "Ready For Delivery" on the Content Editor, as this can require up to two extra weeks for processing!

Forecast & Market Share projections are still required for any title being submitted for "prominent" features. This information can be supplied on a separate sheet.

You can download the form from here

Remember:
labels@the-source.eu

As mentioned in our December Newsletter, we would like to remind you that all label queries and enquiries as well as any other ongoing label issues (outside of normal content deliveries) should be sent to labels@the-source.eu

Sending your e-mails to this address ensures that your query is dealt with in a swift and efficient way.

Some of our most experienced and dedicated staff coordinate the answers to these queries, together with their teams, ensuring that your e-mail never waits to be answered. Your questions are managed by Mark (Dutch language queries) and Chris (English and other language queries) who will be able to help you with any questions you may have from release schedules, New Releases, song placement and synchronisation, marketing and campaigns, through to contract and royalty related issues.

Standard content deliveries and related queries should continue to be sent via the usual channels.

iTunes: Guidelines for  Entering (Non-Classical) Artist and Contributor Names

There are very strict guidelines on how to enter (non-classical) Artist and other Contributor names when submitting albums and tracks for iTunes.

Existing artist names must conform with the exact same spelling and capitalisation as already exists on iTunes and there are also strict guidelines on composers, track titles, punctuation, etc.

For example "JayZ" is considered incorrect, because the correct spelling is hyphenated: Jay-Z

Any mistake in entering the Artist Name is considered an iTunes "Primary Error" and will result in the release being returned, and therefore delayed. For example, the Artist name must not include any mention of role, date, instrument, former band, etc.

Furthermore, compound artist names (i.e. more than one artist name) are not accepted by iTunes. Therefore, "Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder" is incorrect because both artists should be entered separately as "Primary" artists.

The iTunes styleguide is very thorough, and it is worth spending some time familiarising oneself with as it will save a lot of time in the longer term. We therefore recommend that you spend a few minutes reading it. Enjoy!

Update On Delivering Content To The Source

We would like to share a couple of issues which can, on occasion, cause delays to release delivery times.

When possible, multiple initial e-mails should not be sent to us for a single release.

Each initial e-mail starts a new ticket thread in our system, and this then causes delays in processsing as the new tickets start a new request, which means we end up with multiple instances of your release request.

All information concerning each individual release should be kept in one complete e-mail thread with the same ticket number.

Also, when e-mailing content@the-source.eu, please do not CC anybody on these e-mails.

Always check and double-check to ensure that you only deliver the final and approved materials.

Once all materials delivered and approved, the normal turnaround is two full weeks.

Thanks!
