David Nieuwstad
David joined the The Source team in the summer of 2002 as part of our Content Management Team.
Having started programming on a Commodore c64 when he was 10, David's programming talents then progressed rapidly as he keenly kept abreast of the constant advances in technology.
He has found the perfect home at The Source, where he designs and programs systems and develops tailor-made tools to clients' specifications and requirements.
This year marks David's 10th year at The Source, where he is now a key member of our IT Development Team.

In December 2011 YouTube redesigned its homepage and channel layouts, as well as incorporating a host of new user-led extra features.
YouTube claims that this has boosted their daily visits to channels by a huge 60%!

The Source now supports Mastered for iTunes
We are currently testing the ingestion and processing of high resolution audio assets (24 bit, 96 kHz), specifically to supply to iTunes under their Mastered for iTunes banner.
This requires specific treatment of your audio material, especially when remasters of previous releases are involved. You cannot deliver the same audio for both regular deliveries or placements, and Mastered for iTunes.

Spotify Play Button
Spotify have launched the Spotify Play Button allowing websites to stream music from the Spotify catalogue.
Unlike similar Java or Flash music players, the Play Button is Spotify branded and taps into the Spotify database. No need to set up your own database.
Simply embed the Play Button in your website, make a playlist or choose the desired song(s) to be played back and any visitor of your site will just have to hit 'Play' to enjoy the music.
One way to get the most from this functionality is to play back songs from your own catalogue on your own website, but you can also, for example, integrate similar or friendly artists/labels into the playlist.
Furthermore, this added functionality only adds to the enormous exposure potential Spotify can lend your songs!
