Initially she worked on data-entry, but very quickly developed her final polishing skills and soon started content coordination for our dance labels. From January 2012 onwards, Monique will be responsible for all content ingestion processes and the main person behind content@the-source.eu. New Developments
Further to various requests from our labels to allow the distribution of secure download links in combination with a voucher code, and in our ever continuing effort to provide our clients with the tools they need, The Source is proud to introduce its new voucher portal! The voucher portal is a website which the public and your prospective or existing clients can use to download complementary or promotional material that you wish to offer them. For example: bonus tracks, goody bags, pictures, complete albums (zipped), video clips, ringtones, etc. The portal can be used to give away promotional items with books, CDs or DVDs, via websites, online advertisements, your business card or any other way you would like to issue a code and a link. The portal will take care of providing the secure download to your customer, as an on screen link or via an email, as well as all the necessary verifications and administration. Later this month you will get additional information about this new development. |

Known Issues:
Connection speed Due to the amount of API and ContentEditor users we have seen delays in database responses over the last month. We are talking to our connectivity provider to allow peak traffic at rush hours.
Target Media On the Target Media statements income is still linked to one outlet Downloadmusic.nl. We are still talking to Target Media to change this to the individual portals.
Downlovers statements for 2010Q4 are still not processed as these royalties have not been paid.

Beatport Artist Charts
Beatport is one of the electronic music downloads specialists. They have recently developed a tool to allow labels and artists to submit their artist charts to Beatport, via an on-line chart form. Please keep in mind that this is not an automated system and that it may take a while until charts get entered into the system! 2011 Content Freeze!
The deadline for delivering content to Beatport for the rest of 2011 and for the first week of January 2012 is Wednesday December 7th.

iTunes Holiday Shutdown
iTunes will be temporarily shut down for the winter holidays. During this shutdown, the following functionalities will be unavailable:
- Delivery, deletion and modifications of any content.
- Releases scheduled to appear on the iTunes Store for the first time will be delayed.
- Pricing changes scheduled through the interval pricing system.
We strongly recommend that you do not schedule pricing changes that would take effect from December 22 to December 29. Pricing changes scheduled to take effect during this period will not be reflected in the iTunes Store and the content will become unavailable for purchase.
We also recommend that you do not schedule any content to go live during the shutdown period. Releases scheduled with a sales start date between these dates will not go live until after the shutdown.
To accommodate the holiday shutdowns, we are adjusting our content deadlines for content launching in the weeks surrounding Christmas.

Content delivered to us after December 12th will only become live on the iTunes stores early January 2012.
Due to the high workload at this time of year please make sure to deliver as per our specifications. Otherwise we cannot guarantee that your content will be live on the requested release date.

With rapid growth comes change, and as ever at The Source we are looking to upgrade systems whenever we can in order to further optimize our communication channels with new and existing labels. To this end we have set up a new e-mail address aimed at specifically dealing with label queries and enquiries as well as any other ongoing label issues (outside of normal content deliveries): labels@the-source.eu
In order for all label queries to be answered as swiftly as possible, we are putting some of our most experienced and dedicated staff in charge of the queries. These will be managed by Mark (Dutch language queries) and Chris (English and other language queries) who will be able to help you with any questions you may have from release schedules, New Releases, song placement and synchronisation, marketing and campaigns, through to contract and royalty related issues.
Standard content deliveries and related queries should continue to be sent via the usual channels.

The Source is pleased to announce a new partner, Google Music U.S. On November 16th, Google announced that Music Beta is now officially Google Music. The Google Music store is now live and accessible through the Android Market Place (market.android.com). All of your new releases are currently live in the music store. Back Catalogue will be delivered in the next couple of months.

Nokia Mix Radio
 At the end of October Nokia presented the first smartphones in its Windows Phone-based Nokia Lumia range to the world. The Lumia smartphones include signature Nokia experiences such as Nokia Drive and Nokia Music. The Nokia Music experience has been extended with Mix Radio, global, mobile music-streaming application that delivers hundreds of channels of locally-relevant music. Nokia Lumia users also have the ability to create personalized channels from a global catalogue of millions of tracks. The Nokia Music download store is integrated, so users can download directly from the streaming application, or search for artists and titles directly. Also integrated in Nokia Music is Gigfinder, providing the ability to search for live local music for a complete end-to-end music experience, as well as the ability to share discoveries on social networks and buy concert tickets. The Source signed a full catalogue deal with Nokia for this service which means your catalogue will be available for the new Mix Radio service as per today.
