| A VOLUNTEER AT THE Y | |
|
Volunteering at the Y is a call to more than just the giving of your time. At the Y, your talents are used to uplift your neighbor, love on a child, organize an event, bring people with like interests together for fellowship, or just be a friend to those who feel alone. Your time is a gift, not just for another person, but most, importantly to yourself.
We welcome entrepreneurs and individuals who aren't afraid to reach past the doors of their own businesses and homes to teach strong financial principles, parenting and stewardship, healthy living and cooking, and workplace skills. Join us today. Don't wonder what changes you may see. Be that change!! Together, our tomorrow will be strong and bold. "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." Ecclesiastes 3:1. Today is the day to volunteer! This is the season for Westmoreland to change and grow. Don't miss it. |
| SPRING INTO SOCCER AT THE Y | |
|
Days out on a lush green lawn, when the weather has been uncharacteristically warm, is good. Seeing 90+ soccer players and their families enjoy a great day out, is priceless.
Our first day of soccer kicked-off with spectators cheering and everyone enjoying a great day out with their families. Our teams, looking sharp in their bright Y jerseys, showed strong talent and readiness to give it their all this season. Way to go Westmo' Y players!!! Check our Westmoreland Family YMCA Facebook page to hear highlights from the games beginning March 31st. |
| IGNITE | |
|
IGNITE stands for Interactive, Games, Nutrition, Inspiration Through Education. This program is our healthy living program where all afterschool participants learn about healthy habits with food, exercise and sleep. This year, our IGNITE participants have expanded their knowledge base to include Super Foods.
Super Foods are natural items that assist our bodies to perform at their best. Afterschool participants have created a life-like diagram of their own bodies, learning where each organ is located. IGNITE works in our afterschool to promote an informed approach about what we eat and why. Participants learn the important jobs their organs perform and how super foods for those organs maintain health.
