Greetings!
It has been a long time since we have sent a newsletter and this is the first one this year. The main reason being that we have been waiting for good news since the beginning of the year and we now feel that the time is approaching when we will be able to celebrate our final approval by the municipality! We are at the last stages, where we still need to install 2 fire hose pipes (do all børnehave in Copenhagen have these, I wonder...) and hopefully this will be the last thing required by the municipality before we can become a fully recognised and approved institution so that we can grow to our full capacity!
In the meantime, we have been really enjoying the house in Valby. We have a beautiful Montessori classroom, a bright and lively arts room and our dining room is shaping up. We still need to sort out the kitchen, the cloakroom as well as another play room. And of course, our garden will be the biggest project with plans to install a sand pit, a play house, a herb and vegetable patch and lots more. We might need a few volunteers to help us out so please let us know if you've got green fingers.
Once we are properly settled, we will finally be able to organise information days for all interested parents who would like to know more about how we function and what our Montessori curriculum is all about.

Special Appeal!
We would like to appeal to you all to help us complete our project. We need more financing for all the works that the kommune require of us and we are looking for the following:
- INVESTORS: we are looking for investors for amounts between DKK 50 000 and DKK 100 000. We have a few investment opportunities and we would love to speak to you about them.
- GUARANTORS: in order for us to get a bank loan, we need the full amount to be guaranteed by third parties. This means that an individual can guarantee between DKK 10 000 and DKK 25 000 without having to put any cash up front. Guarantors will only need to give the bank their CPR number, address and a copy of their "Årsopgørelsen." The guarantor commitment is between 6 months and 2 years. We are looking for at least a dozen guarantors so please contact us if you are willing to help us out in this way.
- CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP: if you think your company would be willing to sponsor us, we offer a priority list for children of employees from sponsors. We will very soon be at full capacity and being on the priority list can secure spaces for new families who arrive in Copenhagen. Let us know if this might be a possibility and we will be very happy to meet with the people responsible at your company.
- DONATIONS: of course, we accept all sorts of donations, whether they are in cash, in the form of materials for the school or for the garden, and also volunteered time (for gardening, putting up shelves, painting walls, building outdoor materials, etc...).

Registrations
Throughout 2012, we will be gradually welcoming new little ones until we reach full capacity with a total of 32 children.
The first intake of new children will be on 1 May 2012. If you are interested in enrolling your child, please send us a filled out registration form.

Our requirements for admission at the preschool are:
- children must be at least 2.5 years old
- children must be toilet-trained (no more nappies/diapers)
- children must not need to nap on a regular basis (we do not have the facilities for sleeping).

Children's Books and Kitchen Appliances
We are building a sweet little library at the preschool and we are looking for children's books in English for children aged 0 to 6 years old.
We are also trying to equip our kitchen and we are looking for basic appliances such as a kettle, a mixer/blender, a bread machine, a free-standing oven and other kitchen appliances and utensils.
If you are willing to donate your children's books or kitchen appliances, we will be happy to come and pick them up at your home or work place.
