Welcome to the Lake Ontario Offshore Racing Group January Newsletter!

2012 has finally arrived and it is time to start counting down to the start of this year's offshore racing season. We begin our countdown with a warm welcome at the LO300/LOSHRS booth in this year's Toronto International Boat Show.

The Lake Ontario 300 Organizing Committee has already started planning for next year's events and looking for ways to continue improving both the safety and excitement of the Offshore Races hosted by Port Credit Yacht Club. The first step we have taken is to form a joint committee with the LOSHRS Organizing Committee to form the Lake Ontario Offshore Racing Group. This new group of organizers will oversee all offshore racing hosted at Port Credit Yacht Club and work to standardize our race management, communication and promotion for the benefit of all racers.

This is the first of our monthly newsletters leading up to the 2012 race and it is intended to provide technical and related information, updates and happenings. Please feel free to forward it to your full crew or anyone you feel would be interested or benefit from information related to offshore sailing.

If you have something you wish to share or see published in this communication please feel free to drop a line to [email protected] and title it Newsletter. We are always looking to share interesting stories and informative material with our network.

Sincerely,
Darren Gornall
Chair, Lake Ontario Offshore Racing Group
