Yellowbrick Tracking Services
YellowBrick LogoGreat news, the Lake Ontario 300 Challenge has secured the services of Yellowbrick Tracking Services for the 2011 race. This is an exciting decision and will provide unmatched web based viewing of this year's race.
Yellowbrick are the world's leaders in satellite-based tracking services and use the Iridium satellite system for unmatched performance anywhere in the world.

It has brought the promotion of yacht racing to a whole new level and Yellowbrick have some features that will dramatically improve the LO300 experience. Transmissions will be recorded every 15 minutes for close to real time viewing.

Sponsors Update

LO300 Friday Night Kick Off

Unique to the Lake Ontario 300, our Friday Night Party sponsorship is shared between our 2 retail partners, who for the most part compete with each other.

Mason's The Store Chandlery is owned by Lori Mason and Carolyn Burgess owns The Rigging Shoppe

Masons logo lrg

Both women have been a wonderful part of yacht racing on Lake Ontario from an early age starting with junior sailing. Both their fathers started their respective businesses and actively involved them in the business at an early age. Both are accomplished sailors and boaters and Carolyn has participated in the Lake Ontario 300 more than once.

Carolyn Burgess and Lori Mason have gone out of their way to keep updated on current LO300 regulations and safety requirements and carry inventory on the necessary and most common items requested by our participants.  If you are racing this race for the first time, do not hesitate to call either The Rigging Shoppe or Mason's Store Chandlery and let them know you are racing the LO300. Both stores also carry GILL, SPERRY, HARKEN and SPINLOCK which allows you to support our other sponsors.

Susan Hood Trophy Race

SHTR LogoIn less than 2 months we will be out on the lake competing for the Susan Hood Trophy.

Last year's race was a classic Susan Hood Race with all types of weather and winds through the night, but a nice sunny afternoon to lounge around and talk about it. This year the Sperry Top-Sider post race party will give everyone a chance to brag, boast and swap stories as well as pick up some great flags.

One such tale from last year's exciting finish was the tale from Lively, the J/109 that won the Susan Hood Trophy (awarded to the best overall corrected time PRHF) by a 9 second margin. Murray Gainer has already signed up to defend the trophy and repeat last year's performance. Check out Murray's post to see what he has to say and then make sure you are signed up for this year's exciting event.
