• Died near Camp Humphreys Korea on August 12, 2003 when the C-12 Huron he was piloting crashed  Awarded He was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his efforts to save civilian lives. Survived by his wife, Capt. Brandi L. Norman, who is also an Army Aviator

John is also survived by his parents, John and Wendy Hallett, and his two brothers, Christopher and Thomas Hallett
